Another Chance!

So it turns out that unfortunately I didn't hear back from Amy. Amy, if you're out there I'd still love to send you a copy of "Sapphire Night"!

And in case I don't hear from her, I'd like to give away another copy, just to keep things interesting!

If you are interested, drop me a comment (if you have a story to share about jewelry that's significant to you, I'd love to hear it, otherwise just let me know you've stopped by)--and please leave me some way to contact you. :-)

  1. Sorry, I missed the first giveaway. I would love to receive a copy of your story.
When my mother passed, I got all of her jewelry, being the only girl. I had always admired many of the pieces. My father, while in the war, had picked up several interesting pieces when he was in the Philippines.

  2. I think I commented last time about my ring guard which contains the birthstones of my husband, my two sons, and me. It was fun reading everyone else's jewelry stories!

  4. Hi Kaia! My mom's first significant jewelry purchase for me - an amethyst ring - when I was in my early teens is probably my most cherished piece. It's very simple, but it will always be a favorite.

  5. I have a story about a peridot ring which was given to me by my partner at the time. I was very fond of him; however, he wasn't the most romantic of people.

I'm a fan of computer adventure games, especially fantasy ones. My favourite game is The Legend of Kyrandia which featured a beautiful peridot gem which was formed from a leaf of the same shade of green. When my partner and I were at a second hand shop one day, I spotted an exquisite silver ring with the semi-precious peridot stone. It wasn't expensive, so I asked him to buy it for me. I hadn't received any kind of jewellery from him in the past, so I looked upon this piece as a kind of engagement ring. Several years later, during the week he announced he was leaving, the setting on the ring fell to pieces. I took this as a sign the relationship was truly over and it was time to move on emotionally.

However on a more positive note, he didn't move far away, and ten years later we are still friends.

  6. I do not have a lot of jewelry but my favorite thing is an engagement ring that belonged to my grandmother. I was named after her and kept my maiden name as my middle name so I would still have her name.
My grandmother was the only person in my life who gave me unconditional love. A funny story?
Well once when I was a kid they gave me gwumpkies, (spelling? Polish stuffed cabbage), well I slept with my gramdma and had the farts,(sorry), all nite long. I was only about maybe seven and I tried to be quiet about it, but. In the morning my poor crippled grandma told me I had farted all nite long. I felt so bad and hugged her and said I am so sorry. And she said it's all right I love your farts!
So her old mine cut diamond is mine, I am afraid to wear it. But I love it.
I'd love a copy of your book, I promise not to fart anywhere near it. (grin) My email is mricksen@att.net just in case!

  7. I have several pieces that are special to me. My birthstone is opal. My daughter bought me a ring for my birthday with her first "real" paycheck. My mothers ring that my 5 children gave me for Mother's Day one year. It is sterling silver, which I love, and the stones are placed in the middle of a heart and the hearts alternate which way they face on the ring. I have several others that I love but those are very special to me.
